What is a Demolition Survey?

A Refurbishment and Demolition Survey is a mandatory asbestos survey required before any renovation, refurbishment, or demolition work. This thorough inspection identifies and assesses all asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) within the work area—or the entire building if full demolition is planned.

Unlike a standard survey, this process is fully intrusive and may involve destructive inspection to access hidden spaces, including hard-to-reach areas. A Refurbishment and Demolition Survey is also necessary for major maintenance or repair work where deeper structural access is required.
